Service Advisor

The Service Advisor position is responsible for dealing with Clients requirements pertaining to repair and/or servicing of their vehicle issues. The Service Advisor is a key player in our organization as it relates to positive customer relations through communication and follow-up, as well as to conversing with Clients on repair status and charges for repairs. The Service Advisors act as a liaison between external Clients and all those involved internally at The Auto Shop in the service appointment process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establish long-term positive relationships with Clients.
  • Meet and greet Clients, taking calls from Clients to schedule appointments.
  • Advise customers of estimated service and repair costs.
    Determine progress of repair/service orders and inform customer accordingly.
  • Address customer's questions/needs promptly and professionally.
  • Identify service needs of Clients vehicle based upon historical service data.

  • This position does not require automotive knowledge.
   
Service Technician

As a Service Technician you will be responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with industry and The Auto Shop standards
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
  • Keep shop area neat and clean.
  • Ensure that Clients vehicles are repaired right – the first time.
  • Road-test vehicles to ensure of quality repair
  • Document work performed, or recommended.

Required Experience:

  • Two years automotive mechanical experience or automotive trade school
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions
  • Valid drivers license and good driving record
  • Ability to exercise good judgement
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Great attitude with a high-energy personality
  • Superior customer service skills

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or trade school degree preferred
  • ASE Certification
   
Service Porter

The Service Porter is responsible for moving Client vehicles to ensure smooth and efficient traffic flow through the facility and increase customer convenience and maintaining an orderly service parking area.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Shuttle Clients to destinations & Retrieve Clients
  • Maintain the parking lot in a neat and organized manner and keep the parking areas free of debris at all times.
  • Process vehicles through car wash.
  • Assist in moving disabled vehicles in or around the Service Department.
  • Assist Lube Techs in moving vehicles in and out of Quick Lube bays when they are busy.
  • Operate overhead doors as needed to assist customers or service employees and to maintain the best possible shop working environment.
  • Retrieve parts as required.

Required Experience:

  • Professional appearance and work ethic

  • Superior customer service skills
  • Valid Driver's License

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
   
Customer Service Receptionist / Data Entry

The Customer Service Receptionist is the first contact experienced by the Client. They set the tone for the first impression of The Auto Shop. The Receptionist must always wear a smile and be professionally energetic in maintaining high customer satisfaction and loyalty. They are our Directors of "WOW!"

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer multiple lines and forward calls to appropriate personnel
  • Write down and deliver messages
  • Meet and greet Clients, taking calls from Clients to schedule appointments
  • Keep customers happy and build GREAT relationships. (Director of WOW!)
  • make Service Reminder calls
  • Send out reminder letters, postcards and thank you cards
  • Support Bookkeeping/Accounting operations by maintaining files and forms
  • May be asked to help with other Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable duties
  • Pick up and drop off clients occasionally
  • Miscellaneous duties as required

Required Experience:

  • Exceptional phone etiquette skills & enjoy working with people
  • Outstanding communication skills & superior customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and work ethic

Required Education:

  • High school education or equivalent
   

Parts Counterperson

The Parts Counterperson (internal) is responsible for obtaining parts and accessories for the Service Technicians. This individual must maintain the Parts Department in a clean and orderly manner. The Parts Counterperson will assist with inventory ordering, stocking and control and daily Client vehicle parts acquisitions.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Promptly meet and assist the Technician in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Obtain the correct parts and accessories for the Technician in a timely manner.
  • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and transfer the information to the proper document and computer system.
  • Stock incoming inventory in the correct location.
    Maintain the parts department in clean and orderly manner.
  • This can be a physically demanding position. Individual will be required to stand six to eight hours during a shift. Must be able to lift fifty pounds. When delivering parts to the Service Technicians, you will be exposed to noise, dust and exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

Required Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows based PC and Internet.
  • Experience in a retail or wholesale parts department.
  • Good comprehension of parts manuals.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Required Education:

  • A high school diploma or the equivalent
